Ravens Win over Falcon 20-3 ending perfect pre-season

"At the end of Thursday night’s battle of the birds, it seems that Baltimore checked everything off the list and even added a 20-3 victory in the process. At the conclusion of their first undefeated preseason since the 2000 Super Bowl year, the Ravens now shift their focus to the Kansas City Chiefs and the regular-season opener on Sept. 13.

Jason Cook celebrates his TD with Justin Harper “We had certain things we wanted to accomplish for each one of those games, and we really felt like we accomplished, in each one of those games, the things we wanted to accomplish,” said head coach John Harbaugh earlier this week. “Those are very specific things to each position and each side of the ball. But also, with that, we want to win the game if we can.”

The Ravens had success early, and the fact that they did it with what could be considered their junior varsity, the outlook for both sides of the football is promising.

With Baltimore’s second-string offense facing the Falcons’ starting defense, quarterback John Beck led the Ravens on a 14-play, 91-yard scoring drive on his first series.

Baltimore’s backup defense, which featured cameos from starters Suggs and linebacker Tavares Gooden, held quarterback Matt Ryan and the top Falcons offense to 32 total yards.

Two plays later, Williams, who finished with four catches for 77 yards, drew a pass-interference penalty on cornerback Brent Grimes that cost the Falcons 26 yards and moved the football to Atlanta’s 25-yard line.

Williams could have used a big night, considering that he rode on the team plane to Atlanta with a surgical mask because he was battling flu-like symptoms and was overlooked in the starting lineup last week in favor of Kelley Washington.

It was Williams again who hauled in a 19-yarder over his shoulder to get within the red zone, and Beck found rookie fullback Jason Cook on a short pass in the flat. The 245-pound undrafted free agent then rumbled 5 yards to the end zone.

After Suggs left the game with two series of work, accumulating three tackles and a sack, the Falcons got on the board in the second quarter with a 45-yard field goal from veteran kicker Jason Elam. But, the three-pointer capped a nine-play drive that only went 32 yards.

Steve Hauschka split the uprights from 33 and 46 yards. His performance may have cemented his status as Baltimore's permanent kicker for the 2009 campaign." -BR.com

WILD CARDS!

We've come a long way since last year, when we gave the Dolphins their only win last season, bt the Dolphins have come a long way since last season too. Or have they. Yes Pennington was doing better with Ronnie Brown & Ricky Willaims (since hes been clean?) but to no avail. Although they won their division we had beat them earlier & we knew we could do it again. I think the warm weather helped us since we had been used to playing in the usual Baltimore 34 degree raining shit. My boy JIM LEONHARD got his 2nd interception this season, he's been playing amazing this whole season & I think hes gonna be huge in the next couple years, so keep your ears out for his name. We played 100% this game & deserve this win.

Week 17 Jaguars: good effort

Yes another W. I think we all knew we could/would do it this game. Last game of the regular season at home, the game to get us into the playoffs, & a sold out stadium = perfect recipe for a sick win. A lot of huge plays, Flacco threw a huge 48 yd bomb to Clayton, (who I'm loving this season) who catches the ball over his head to get . Finally him & Mason are getting the looks they deserve & we have another option to getting a completion besides using the RB's to pound yards 1 at a time. Reed had another pick this week (as usual) he tried to mix it up wa little with a lateral to Ngata, to reminisce his rugby days. I think everyones already aware of how REEDiculous the REEDfense is. We used some wildcat plays but they didn't work as well as in the past, but overall we got the win & it was a beautiful day.

Recap on the past weeks, Week 16

Yeah, yeah, yeah I haven't been up to date with the ravens progress the past couple weeks. I've been a little tied up with winning/ celebrating the awesomeness that is the Baltimore Ravens. So here's what has happened with the rest of the season, for those of you who already don't know. Cowboys game: close the whole game then, for some reasonm the last 2 plays the cowboys decide to stop playing all defense and let Mcgahee first run a huge 77 yrd touchdown (which was this seasons, & his career high) then immidiately following McLain beat that record with a 82 yrd touchdown. Good way to close out your stadium dallas. Let me know if TO needs a tissue this press conference. I think Romo doesn't care about the game anymore cause he knows he's gonna be laid by Jessica Simpson either way. I don't blame him. Romo just switch to being in a boyband maybe you'll be better at that.

Week 14 Deadskins still suck

An amazing win on primetime, last Sunday. Sorry to disappoint the lower part of the state, but your Deadskins are no match for the real MD team. Another defensive game 2 sacks, 2 INT, Fumble recovery, & a TD. I'm little pissed about our offense. Flaccos 1 INT, but more importantly can someone keep McGahee off the field! I feel like his injury has never fully been recovered & his performance compared to McClain & Rice is sub par. He dropped a perfect carry but then luckily, for him, he kicked it out of bounds before it was a turnover. He can never find a hole when he drives up the middle anymore. I think hes been done for this season before it started. He was a huge force last season but hasn't been living up to his worth this one. Also, on his player stats (when they say their name & college) he is the only cocky guy that says Willis McGahee "you already know". WTF no no no you are not that good to be saying that kind of stuck up shit. You aren't that good & you're not TO. Don't start carrying a sharpie in your sock you haven't scored a TD since week 10 against Houston. Besides this next Sunday is huge. We beat those bastards we'll be tied for first in our division, but more importantly we'll beat the steelers. We're ranked 6th overall, we're doing good, lets keep this up & get another W on the board.

Week 12 vs. Eagle = rediculous WIN

Wow....Nice Win Yesterday. 36-7 against the Eagles. Let's just reflect on some of these stats: Flacco: 2 TDs | KOLB (after McNAbb is benched)! & McNabb: 0 TDs both 2 INT. McClain: 88 YDs | Westbroook: 14 YDs. As for Defense (if you got them on your fantasy team, like me, you better get a W this week): 2 sacks, 1 safety, 4 interceptino, 1 fumble recovery, TD, & BLOCKED KICK! This is the team we need to see the rest of the season. Defense playing like 6 seasons ago & Offense working to get the points. It's games like this that will get us to the playoffs. In light of this game ALERT! Week 14 has changed it's broadcast date! We have now been moved to be on NBC at 8:15pm when we face the Deadskins! Next week (13) we face the Bengals again at Cincinnati, and they are "the worst team in the league" said Houshmandzadeh & their 1-9 stats reflect that statement, so let's keep that trend going for them. We need to see the team from yesterday redo that game on the road. Also to help this page be found easier when searching I have created a Ravens in Santa Monica Group through google, so all you fans can post most thoughts (also the more people that join will help the search).

Season 2008: Week 12 vs. Eagles

We're already into Week 12 & we face McNabb and Westbrook this week. I feel after last week's performance against the Giants we're pissed off (at least I know I am). 207 rushed yards allowed, Brandon Jacobs best rushing ever. WTH! Well this week we're at home, McNabb is easily sacked & we are not gonna have a rerun of last weeks performance. I want at least 1 of each of the following from the defense next week: Sack, Safety, Interception, Fumble Recovery, TD & I want the Eagles to be held under 7 points. Is that too much to ask for from a team who already has 20 sacks, 2 safteys, & 15 interceptions. Come on secondary get pumped up! Reed & Leonard step it up! Let's get this W. Steelers are definitely going to kill the Browns (unless there's some kind of divine intervention) this week so we gotta stay on their toes with a win. Week 13 Steelers face the Patriots @ NE. They loose that & we're tied again! LET'S GO TEAM!
